Savero brings act to MPL PH as Onic makes unprecedented import signing

For the longest time, other countries bolstered their rosters by recruiting Filipino talent in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Now, it's the Philippines’ turn to look abroad and bring in reinforcements of its own.

Onic made history as the first-ever team to land an import in MPL Philippines after signing Indonesian star Clayton "Savero" Kuswanto ahead of Season 17, which kicks off on March 20.

Onic tapped the rising gold laner to fill the void left by multi-titled Duane "Kelra" Pillas, who left the country and transferred to Onic Indonesia to play alongside fellow Filipino import Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol.

Savero will join the core led by jungler Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez, exp laner Jann "Kirk" Gutierrez, midlaner Frince "Super Frince" Ramrez, and roamer Borris "Brusko" Parro with Jeniel "Yellyhaze" Bata-Anon serving as the head coach.

Onic Philippines, the M6 World Championship winner, is coming off a fourth-place finish in Season 16 and is looking to redeem itself with a new-look squad.

And Savero could very well be the missing piece in that redemption bid.

Savero was a former part of Onic Indonesia's MDL team before being promoted to its MPL squad, helping the team win championships in Seasons 15 and 16. He was also part of their M7 World Championship team, which bowed out early in the lower bracket.
