What is the Indian Wells Open?
Often dubbed the “fifth Grand Slam,” the Indian Wells Open is a WTA 1000 tournament held annually in Southern California.
According to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), it is historically the most-attended tennis event outside of the four Grand Slams.
Eala’s campaign
World No. 32 Eala received a first-round bye and will open her run in the Round of 64 against Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska.

Yastremska, currently ranked No. 52, advanced to the Round of 64 after defeating Zhang Shuai, 6-3, 6-2, in the Round of 128.
Aside from singles play, Eala will also compete in doubles alongside Iva Jovic.
