Karl Eldrew Yulo books horizontal bar finals ticket in Gymnastics World Cup Baku leg

Karl Eldrew Yulo will have another shot at a medal after advancing to the horizontal bar finals of the Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Yulo scored 13.533 points to finish sixth in the qualifiers and secure a spot in the medal round. However, he fell short of advancing in the vault and pommel horse events.

The Filipino gymnast is also set to compete in the floor exercise finals on Saturday, while the horizontal bar medal round will take place on Sunday.

The Baku leg marks Yulo’s first stint at the senior level of the Gymnastics World Cup.

In the Junior World Championships held in the Philippines last November, Yulo bagged two bronze medals in the same events.
