Gilbert Muge, Edna Magtubo rule 16K race in Trilogy Run Asia Manila Leg 1
Kenya’s Gilbert Muge and Filipina Edna Magtubo topped the 16K races in the opening Manila leg of the Trilogy Run Asia Manila Leg 1 held last Sunday at the Mall of Asia Complex.
Muge clocked 50 minutes and 9 seconds to top the men’s 16K race, finishing ahead of Eduard Flores (50:50) and Ricky Organiza (50:57).
Magtubo, meanwhile, posted a time of 58:04 to lead the women’s 16K division. Pamela Bundotich came in second at 58:56, while Jackline Musyawo Nzivo finished third in 1:01:15.
In the 10K race, Jeck Labrador topped the men’s division with a time of 31:03, followed by Evans Bomer (31:35) and James Orduña (31:58). On the women’s side, Lucy Liavoga led the field in 36:11, ahead of Jessa Mae Roda (37:03) and Erika Burgos (38:20).
In the 5K event, Dhem AJ Monton ruled the men’s race with a time of 15:19, with Jevie Rebutazo (16:12) and Justwin Guerrero (16:21) completing the podium. In the women’s division, Joida Gagnao topped the race in 18:37, followed by Mary Jane Pagayon (19:03) and Nicole Kurt Anne Diloy.
The second leg of the Sante Barley Trilogy Run Asia Manila Leg 2 is set for May 17.
Aside from Manila, the Trilogy Run Asia series also holds races in Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, Davao City, and Cebu City.
