Alex Eala says Miami Open will always hold special place in her heart

Alexandra “Alex” Eala may have concluded her campaign at the Miami Open, but she emphasized that the tournament will always hold a special place in her heart.

Eala reached the Round of 16 before bowing to Karolína Muchova .

“I can confirm, Miami’s still the best. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this tournament. First sunshine double done,” Eala wrote in an Instagram post.

Prior to her Miami stint, Eala competed at Indian Wells Open, where she advanced to the Round of 16 .

It was also at the Miami Open last year where Eala made her breakthrough on the global stage .

She is set to begin her clay court campaign in Austria this April .
