Karl Eldrew Yulo advances to floor exercise, horizontal bar finals in Gymnastics World Cup Cairo leg

Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo advanced to the floor exercise and horizontal bar finals of the Cairo leg of the Gymnastics World Cup in Egypt.

Yulo secured a spot in the floor exercise finals, scheduled Sunday (Philippine time), after placing fifth in the qualifying round on Friday with a score of 13.900.

He followed this up with another strong showing on Saturday, finishing third in the horizontal bar qualifiers with a score of 13.466 to book his place in the finals set for Monday. Fellow Filipino Juancho Miguel Besana, meanwhile, placed in the top 10 with a score of 12.233, earning the second reserve slot.

Yulo is coming off a gold medal performance in the floor exercise at the Antalya leg of the Gymnastics World Cup last month.
