Carlos Yulo, OAJLP Gymnastique advance to finals of Top 12 series in France
Filipino gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, along with OAJLP Gymnastique (Olympique Antibes Juan les Pins), has advanced to the finals of the Top 12 series of the French Gymnastics Championships.
Yulo is competing with OAJLP Gymnastique, a club based in Antibes, France. The Top 12 series, meanwhile, is France's premier club competition, featuring the 12 best teams in a head-to-head format.
According to the club's website, teams compete in direct matchups, with the winners of each semifinal advancing to the final.
On Sunday, the two-time Olympic gold medalist posted scores of 14.833 in the floor exercise and 14.700 in vault in the tournament's semis.
“Proud to stand alongside the OAJLP Gymnastique team, we all showed up strong and focused. Grateful for the journey, the team, and this win,” Yulo wrote in an Instagram post.
“And we’re not done yet… we’re going to the finals!”
The finals, where OAJLP will face Vallauris, will be held on May 15.
