UAAP: UST retains general championship, hands Season 89 hosting duties to FEU

The University of Santo Tomas captured its 49th UAAP general championship in the collegiate division and 25th in the high school division as the university formally closed Season 88 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion on Friday.

UST amassed 356 points after winning 10 championships, including titles in table tennis, standard chess, blitz chess, tennis, women’s basketball in both 5x5 and 3x3, judo, and beach volleyball.

In the high school division, UST collected 327 points behind championships in judo, beach volleyball, table tennis, swimming, girls’ basketball, boys’ athletics, and girls’ athletics.

The university also formally handed over the hosting duties for Season 89 to Far Eastern University with the theme “For Everyone, UAAP.” The opening ceremony is scheduled for September 12.
