Conor McGregor set for Octagon return against Max Holloway at UFC 329
Conor McGregor will finally make his long-awaited return to the Octagon against Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as part of International Fight Week.
UFC president and CEO Dana White made the official announcement on social media on Sunday morning (Philippine time).
Conor McGregor (22-6) and Max Holloway (27-9) are set to meet in a welterweight rematch. Their first encounter took place in 2013, when “The Notorious” earned a unanimous decision victory after three rounds.
The bout marks McGregor’s comeback after a lengthy absence from competition. The former two-division UFC champion last fought in July 2021, when he suffered a broken leg during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.
McGregor, 37, was originally scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but withdrew due to a toe injury.
Holloway, meanwhile, enters the matchup looking to rebound from a five-round decision loss to Charles Oliveira in March. Also a former UFC featherweight titleholder, the 34-year-old Hawaiian remains one of the UFC’s biggest fan favorites.
