Loraine Batalla, Ashley Silvor set new Palarong Pambansa records in 400m events

AGUSAN DEL SUR — Loraine Batalla and Ashley Silvor set new tournament records to bag gold medals in their respective 2026 Palarong Pambansa 400m events on Monday at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Gov. D.O. Sports Complex.

Batalla of Region IV-A CALABARZON clocked 56.12 seconds to rule the 400m secondary girls, smashing Jessel Lumapas's previous record of 56.28 seconds.

Mary Joy Peñaflor of Region VIII Eastern Visayas clinched the silver with 56.87 seconds while Negros Island Region's Psalm Euxene Pampag claimed the bronze with 57.01 finish.

Meanwhile, Palarong Pambansa debutant Ashley Silvor of NIR also broke the previous meet record in the 400m elementary girls division after clocking one minute and .09 seconds.

Clair Gemparo of Region XIII captured the silver with a minute and .44 seconds output while Llianne Pearl Redoblado posted one minute and .72 seconds to claim the bronze.
