After conquering the Birmingham Open, Alex Eala is set for another taste of grass action, this time in a WTA 500 tournament as she competes in the HSBC Championships on Tuesday in London.

The 21-year-old Filipina star will open her new campaign against China's Zhang Shuai in the Round of 32 at around 5 p.m. (Manila time) as she looks to continue her winning ways just two days after winning the Birmingham Open.

Eala is coming off her second overall WTA 125 title after escaping Nikola Bartunkova in a thriller on Sunday night.

Eala, currently ranked no. 33 in the world, is seeking to repeat her winning ways against the no. 64 Zhang. The 37-year-old Chinese ace holds three singles titles on the WTA tour.

HSBC Championships returned last year after a 52-year hiatus with Tatjana Maria defeating Amanda Anisimova in the finals to become the first champion since 1973.

Aside from Eala, other top-ranked players are set to compete in the tournament, including world no. 2 Elena Rybakina, who is the second seed, alongside defending champion Maria, Leylah Fernandez, Victoria Mboko, Emma Raducanu, Iva Jovic, and Sorana Cirstea.
