Lito Adiwang to face unbeaten Joshua Perreira at ONE Fight Night 45

Lito “The Thunder Kid” Adiwang is set to make his second appearance of the year.

The Filipino contender will face unbeaten American prospect Joshua Perreira in a flyweight MMA bout at ONE Fight Night 45 on July 18 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both camps have signed contracts for the matchup, GMA News Online learned.

Fresh off back-to-back victories, Adiwang will be looking to score a third consecutive stoppage as he continues his climb in the 135-pound weight class.

“Definitely the stoppage will continue ‘cause I made a shift on my game now that I [have] moved up to flyweight,” the 33-year-old striker said.

“So that made me level up my game to come out always looking to finish the fight ‘cause I am confident that every burst and barrage of strikes I deliver I know that I can recover easy and do it again and again till the stoppage comes.”

The Baguio native most recently stopped Eko Roni Saputra in just 34 seconds. Still, the Soma Fight Club standout insists he is prepared for a grueling battle if his Plan A does not materialize.

“I am confident that my gas tank can go all the way till the 3rd round, all out no problem.”

A victory over Perreira could move Adiwang one step closer to a shot at ONE Championship gold.

“I think once I get a good finish in this fight I am worthy to fight for that belt and I feel ready to become a champion now. But if not next, I will take anybody in the top five. Once I win, there is no denying that I am ready and worthy for the belt.”
