Jonathan Caraang shines in Pride Run 16K race

Jonathan Caraang emerged victorious in the non-binary 16K category of the Pride Run held last Sunday at the Mall of Asia Complex.

Caraang clocked 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 46 seconds to top the division, finishing ahead of Prince March Son Petallana, who posted 1:18:26, and Jay-R Cuevas, who came in third with a time of 1:18:29.

In the men's 16K division, Mark Anthony Oximar claimed the title with a winning time of 57:44, while Jeziel Roque ruled the women's category after finishing in 1:28:36.

The event also featured 10K and 5K races, drawing around 10,000 participants.

RUNRIO, the event organizer, likewise donated P500,000 to its advocacy partner, PANTAY.

"We're happy to continue being allies of the LGBTQIA+ community, and you can see it with the strong turnout we've had this year," said RUNRIO president Rio de la Cruz.

Prior to its Manila leg, this year's Pride Run was held in Davao and will next head to Cebu.
