Lito Adiwang draws new opponent for ONE Fight Night 45

Lito Adiwang will have a new opponent when he returns to action at ONE Fight Night 45 on July 18 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Originally scheduled to face American Joshua Perreira, Adiwang will now take on Brazil's Antonio Cesar in a flyweight mixed martial arts bout after, GMA News Online learned.

Perreira withdrew from the bout this week due of an undisclosed injury.

Despite the late switch-up, Adiwang said his approach remains unchanged.

“For me nothing changed even if my original opponent changed,” Adiwang said. “My original game plan stayed the same to go there and give another thunderous performance.”

Cesar enters ONE Championship with a 13-1 professional record and will be making his promotional debut against the Filipino veteran. Adiwang, however, intends to give the Brazilian a baptism by fire.

“I know that my new opponent is young, has a good record and is hungry to showcase his capabilities under ONE Championship,” the 33-year-old said. “And that excites me to face him. I am ready to welcome him in ONE!”

Training out of Soma Fight Club in Bali, Indonesia, Adiwang heads into the matchup riding a two-fight winning streak. He most recently stopped Eko Roni Saputra in just 34 seconds and will be looking to secure a third straight victory against the newcomer.
