Jhanlo Sangiao books return bout against Marcos Aurelio at ONE Fight Night 46

Filipino mixed martial artist Jhanlo Mark Sangiao is set to make his first appearance of the year when he returns at ONE Fight Night 46 on August 15 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The son of renowned Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao will take on Brazil's Marcos Aurelio in a bantamweight MMA bout after both camps signed contracts for the matchup, an insider told GMA News Online.

“First na laro natin this year kaya gagawin ko lahat ng makakaya ko para maipanalo ulit ang laban na to,” Sangiao said.

(It's my first fight this year so I'm going to do everything I can to win.)

The 23-year-old Team Lakay prospect last competed in July, when he rallied late to submit Mongolia's Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg with just 18 seconds remaining in their bout.

Aurelio, meanwhile, is no stranger to the Baguio-based stable. In his ONE Championship debut in January 2026, the Brazilian suffered a second-round knockout loss to Carlo Von Bumina-ang.

“Nung nalaman ko na si Aurelio ang makakalaro ko na nakaharap ni Manong Von, agad kong tinanong kung anong kahinaan at kalakasan ni Aurelio noong nagharap sila,” he revealed.

“Malaking tulong ang advice at tips sa akin ni Manong Von sa aking paghahanda para sa aking parating na laban ngayong Agosto 15.”
