Olympic rower Joanie Delgaco bags bronze in Germany, PH youth rowers shine in Thailand

Philippine rowing recently had a strong international campaign with medal-winning performances in Germany, Austria, and Thailand.

Olympian Joanie Delgaco captured the bronze medal in the women's single sculls at the 67th Internationale Ratzeburger Ruderregatta in Germany.

Delgaco also won a bronze medal at the 122nd Vienna International Rowing Regatta.

In the same competition, Edgar Ilas captured gold in the lightweight men's single sculls, while Rynjie Peñaredondo and Van Maxilom earned silver in the men's pair. Delgaco teamed up with Kristine Paraon to claim another bronze in the women's double sculls.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Youth Beach Sprint Team collected multiple medals at the 2026 Asian Rowing Beach Sprint Championships in Pattaya, Thailand.

Emmanuel Pilar led the charge with three gold medals, topping the U16 Coastal Men's Single Sculls before teaming up with Kyle Olano to win the U16 Coastal Men's Double Sculls.

Khayzie Caviltes and Ayonna Huerto also struck gold in the U19 Coastal Women's Double Sculls.

Matt Jugadora earned silver in the U19 Coastal Men's Single Sculls, while Amelyn Pagulayan and Feiza Lenton settled for bronze in the Coastal Women's Double Sculls.
