Alex Eala set for August 5 start in Canadian Open

Alex Eala 's schedule for the upcoming Canadian Open is now set even as she continues her run at the WTA 500 DC Open.

Tournament organizers announced that the Filipino standout will begin her campaign on the night of August 5 (Ontario time).

Eala, the No. 25 seed in the tournament, received a first-round bye and will face the winner of the opening-round match between Alycia Parks and Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva in the Round of 64.

Before turning her attention to the Canadian Open, however, Eala will first take on Jessica Pegula in the final of the WTA 500 DC Open.
