What did Alex Eala and Caty McNally talk about after tough Canadian Open match?
Alexandra “Alex” Eala and Caty McNally exchanged a few words at the net after the Filipina ace outlasted the American, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, in the Canadian Open Round of 32 on Friday (Saturday, Philippine time).
As it turns out, the two had some kind words for each other after the hard-fought match.
“I think there was a huge mutual respect for the great match that we had,” Eala said in a post-match conference.
“She told me congratulations and she said, thanks for letting me be a part of this, which is incredibly kind and gracious from her. I think it's super gracious and a lot of respect for Caty.”
Eala also had plenty of praise for McNally.
“I think it was a really tough match today for many reasons, one being also that Caty is such a big fighter and I think she's got definitely some good weapons and, yeah, it was a tight one.”
Eala will face Belinda Bencic next in the Round of 16.
