Alex Eala vs Caty McNally at the Canadian Open

Alex Eala is putting her Canadian Open exit behind her and turning her attention to some much-needed rest before she resumes her campaign at the Cincinnati Open.

The world No. 20 Filipina has just concluded her run at Toronto after a 6-4, 6-0 loss to Belinda Bencic in the Round of 16 Monday, snapping a career-best seven-game winning streak that included her historic title run at the Mubadala DC Open.

Eala will now turn her focus to another WTA 1000 event, the Cincinnati Open---a prestigious tournament played on the hard courts at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

But before returning to action, the Filipina tennis star is looking to take some time to rest and recharge.

"I definitely will take maybe two days off, a day or two. I do have to travel to Cincinnati. I need to get a haircut. I haven't gotten a haircut in a while. My nails are grown out. So, yeah, I'll do a couple of things just to get my mind off tennis," Eala said in jest.

"And I think Toronto is a great place to do that and reunite maybe with some friends in Cincinnati and just try to have fun."

Eala is set to face another heavyweight field at the Cincinnati Open, with top-ranked stars Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, and Mirra Andreeva all expected to see action alongside several other top players.

While the draws have yet to be released, Eala is expected to receive a first-round bye and a seeding based on her current ranking.

"I mean, you got to enjoy what I have. I got to enjoy the time that I have that I'm not on court."
