PH team Legit Status Varsity set to compete in UDO World Street Dance Championships in UK

Legit Status Varsity, a Filipino team, will be representing the country on the world stage when it competes in the Under 18 Team Division of the 2026 UDO World Street Dance Championships in Blackpool, UK from August 12 to 16.

Legit Status, which was founded in 2009 under Vimi Rivera, has seen plenty of success in the international scene, particular in the 2023 and 2025 editions of the World Hip Hop Dance Championships, where they became world champion in the MegaCrew Division.

Its junior squad, Legit Status Varsity, has won the bronze in the JV MegaCrew Division of the same competition in 2025. It also won honors in the SOAR competition in Manchester, UK, winning in the U16 category.

It earned its place in the UDO competition after ruling the UDO Philippines Street Dance Championship held in Quezon City last November.

The team will be composed of 24 members and will seek to help build the country’s reputation as a major player in hip-hop dance on the world stage.
