Two-time world champion Edward retires from MLBB pro play

It's an end of an era as Edward "Edward" Dapadap calls time on his professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang career, bringing the curtain down on one of the most decorated runs in the scene.

Aurora Gaming announced Edward's retirement on Tuesday as the veteran exp laner formally ended his career that saw him win multiple titles in both the local and international scenes.

"Some careers end on stage. Others live on through the moments they leave behind. We shared victories that will stay with us, defeats that taught us, and a championship that took us all the way to the top of the world," Aurora said in a post.

"And now, after years of battles and countless moments on the biggest stages, you’ve now decided to hang up the jersey and retire from MLBB pro play."

Edward moved to Manila at just 15 years old to pursue his MLBB career, eventually joining Blacklist International, where he went on to win three MPL Philippines titles in Seasons 7, 8, and 10 and the M3 World Championship in 2021.

He then joined Aurora Gaming and helped the squad conquer the M7 World Championship, becoming just the fourth player to win two world titles alongside jungler Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, Angelo "Phewww" Arcangel, and David "FlapTzy" Canon.

Edward was also inducted to the MPL Hall of Legends in May 2023.

"I guess with how long I've been in the scene, the daily routine has gotten a little repetitive. It's getting harder for me keep up," Edward said in Filipino in a video.

"About my retirement, I thought about it well and for a long time. I'd like to have time for what I missed in the past, for myself and for my family."
