Alas Pilipinas Men claim 13th place as Kyrgyzstan forfeits match

The Alas Pilipinas Men claimed 13th place after Kyrgyzstan confirmed its non-participation in their scheduled classification round match.

The match was scheduled for Saturday noon.

“The Technical Delegate received confirmation from the KGZ team that they will not participate in Match #42 between KGZ and PHI. Therefore, the match will be declared a forfeit, with the official result recorded as 0–3 (0–25, 0–25, 0–25) in favor of PHI. The match schedule will remain unchanged,” the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee website announced.

The Philippine men’s volleyball team went winless in the group stage against South Korea, China, and Chinese Taipei before losing to Indonesia in the first classification match.

The Alas Men then broke through and defeated Uzbekistan to claim their first win.
