PVL: Eli Soyud erupts for 30 as Akari outlasts Farm Fresh in thriller

Eli Soyud detonated for 30 points to help Akari eke out a 25-22, 25-27, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12 win against Farm Fresh in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series on Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The veteran opposite spiker helped the Chargers cruise to their second straight win after opening the conference with two straight losses to Creamline and Capital1 for a 2-2 card.

Ivy Lacsina was also huge in the almost three-hour battle, dropping 21 points anchored on 18 attacks, two aces, and one block as well as 17 receptions while Fifi Sharma dropped 11 markers as they sent the Foxies to a similar 2-2 record.

And for Akari, the win was a test of character.

"The character of each player was there. Maybe we just needed to just show it off in the game. We just had the connection, that's why what we planned on executing was translated into points," Akari deputy head coach Eddieson Orcullo said.

Soyud, meanwhile, stressed she won't be able to do what she did if not for the trust given to her by her teammates and coaches as they are now starting to turn their campaign around.

"It's the trust, that's what I'm holding on to. The coaches didn't give me any other instructions aside from hitting the ball every time I get the chance," Soyud said.

"They told me not to hesitate, which I did."
