Ateneo struggles vs NU to stay winless

After dropping its opener against FEU, the Ateneo Lady Eagles suffered another defeat Wednesday, this time in the hands of the NU Lady Bulldogs, 25-19 25-19 25-20 12-25 15-2, on Wednesday.

Jaja Santiago led NU with 26 points off 20 kills, four blocks, and two aces, while Jasmine Nabor added 11 with seven service aces. Risa Sato added eight, while Roselyn Doria and Audrey Paran chipped in seven apiece.

Jhoanna Maraguinot again led Ateneo with 16 points off 15 kills, while Kat Tolentino added 12 points thanks to four aces and three blocks. Pauline Gaston rounded up the Lady Eagles in double figures with 10, accounting for six attack points and a block.

With the loss, Ateneo joined UE and Adamson at the bottom of the standings as the three remaining winless teams. NU claimed the top spot at 2-0, while UST is at 1-1. UP, FEU, and DLSU are all tied at 1-0. — BAP, GMA News
