UAAP: Galanza scores 26 as Lady Falcons conquer Lady Tams
The Adamson University Lady Falcons bounced back from their opening day loss against the NU Lady Bulldogs by defeating the FEU Lady Tamaraws, 25-23 19-25 25-22 21-25 15-12.
Jessica Galanza had 26 points off 25 kills, but it was a total team effort for Adamson, as three other players scored more than 10. Mylene Past had 13 points thanks to four blocks and and ace, while Mary Joy Dacoron and Chiara Permentilla tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Lady Falcons edged the Lady Tams in attack points, 66-54, but FEU stayed in the hunt, capitalizing on their defense. The Morayta-based squad accounted for 14 denials to Adams’s five.
FEU team captain Bernadette Pons teamed up with Toni Rose Basas, and the veterans scored 22 and 18 points, respectively, thanks to a combined 33 kills.
With the win, Adamson joined the four-way tie in the middle of the standings with UST, FEU, and UP at 1-1. —Renee Fopalan/LBG, GMA News
