NU whips UE to earn solo lead

The NU Lady Bulldogs whipped the winless UE Lady Warriors to take the top spot in the UAAP Women’s Volleyball standings with a 25-15 18-25 25-23 25-19 victory.

Jaja Santiago powered NU with 23 points off 18 kills and four blocks, while Roselyn Doria added 12 markers off eight kills. Aiko Urdas and Audrey Paran combined for 15 more points for the top team in the league.

Mary Ann Mendrez and Shaya Adorador accounted for 11 points each, combining for 20 attack points.

Judith Abul and Seth Rodriguez combined for 11 more, but the Lady Bulldogs still edged UE 41-30 in attack points.

NU was also more active at the net, collating eight blocks to UE’s two.

With the win, NU. Improved to 3-0 ahead of defending champions La Salle (2-0). UE, meanwhile, sank further into last place at 0-3. — DVM, GMA News
