NU overcomes La Salle in battle of top teams

The NU Lady Bulldogs edged the DLSU Lady Spikers 26-24 19-25 22-25 25-17 16-14 to remain as the only unbeaten squad in the UAAP Women’s Volleyball competition.

Jaja Santiago had a monster game, scoring 27 points off 20 kills, four blocks, and three aces. Rosa Sato added 15 points off 10 kills and five blocks, while Aiko Urdas and Audrey Paran added 10 points apiece.

The Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Spikers 55-51 in attack points and 13-11 in blocks, enough to spell the difference in a very close game.

Majoy Baron paced La Salle with 14 points off 10 kills and three blocks, while May Luna tallied 12. Kim Dy was the only other DLSU player in double figures with 11 after registering 10 kills.

With the win, NU improved to 4-0 while DLSU slid to solo second at 3-1. Ateneo, UST, FEU, and Adamson are tied at 2-2, while UP rests in seventh place at 1-3. UE remains winless for last place at 0-4. — DVM, GMA News
