UE routs UST for second straight win
The UE Lady Warriors continued to roll on Wednesday, following up their win against the Adamson Lady Falcons with a 25-23 18-25 28-26 26-24 victory against the UST Lady Tigresses at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan City.
Mean Mendrez led UE with 21 points off 155 attack points, while Shaya Adorador added 15. Judith Abil and Seth Rodriguez also chipped in 10 points each.
UST actually led in kills, 63-46, but UE made up for it with their splendid net defense, tallying 12 blocks to UST’s two. In a close match, the Lady Warriors also forced 29 errors while committing 26.
With the win, UE improved to 2-6 to tie UST in the standings. The Lady Warriors have now won two matches with new head coach Rod Roque at the helm, dropping just one game.
Sisi Rondina had 25 points for UST with 24 kills, while Dimdim Pacres chipped in 18. Tin Francisco, meanwhile, bucked a sprained angle with 10 points. — BAP, GMA News
