UP edges Adamson in five-setter

The UP Lady Maroons took advantage of a struggling Adamson University squad, chalking up a 25-18 14-25 25-19 21-25 16-14 victory on Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The two teams were virtually dead even in attack points, with the Katipunan-based squad hitting 55 to Adamson’s 53.

Diana Carlos led UP to victory with 22 points, while Isa Molde had 18. The two combined for 36 of UP’s kills.

Adamson, meanwhile, milked their defense at the net for points, tallying 11 blocks to UP’s 4.

Jessica Galanza paced Adamson with 19 points off 18 kills, while Chiara Permentilla added 17. Joy Dacoron rounded up the Lady Falcons in double figures with 14. — DVM, GMA News
