PHL men's volleyball team bags silver after bowing to Indonesia

The Philippine men's national volleyball team bowed down to Indonesia, 25-21, 27-25, 25-17, to end their Southeast Asian Games campaign with a silver medal on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Filipino spikers settled for second place after their sensational five-set victory against four-peat champion Thailand in the semifinals.

Doni Haryono scored a game-high 26 points for Indonesia. Rivan Nurmulki and Sigit Ardian also had 17 and 11 markers, respectively.

Marck Espejo led the Philippines with 15 points. Bryan Bagunas scored 11 markers.

This is the Philippines' first finals appearance after four decades. They last played in the finals when the country first joined the biennial meet in 1977, where they claimed silver.
