A gallant stand was not enough as the Philippines formally bowed out of contention in the third Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championship in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand on Monday.

The Filipino duo of Jayrack De La Noche and Alexander Iraya fell short against Iran 2's Amir Reza Zamani and Armin Kami, 12-21, 16-21, to formally exit in the tournament.

De La Noche and Iraya finished their play pool campaign with a 0-2 win-loss card.

The tandem stressed they may have be going home without a single win but they said they will bring home with them some valuable lessons from this international stage debut.

"We will bounce back next time, we will be a better team," said Dela Noche, who also gave credit to their coaches in Dondon Verayo and Teshi Ea for motivating them.

"Thank you for those who supported us and watched the matches online."

But their assignments are not yet through as they will still compete in the Fourth Asian U21 Beach Volleyball Championships on July 12 also in Nakhon Pathom.
