Aside from PVL Open title, Jaja Santiago bags Conference, Finals MVP honors
The queen has arrived.
Shortly after Chery Tiggo came from a two-set deficit to win the 2021 PVL Open Conference title, team captain Jaja Santiago bagged a couple more plums to solidify her place in Philippine volleyball.
Santiago was named both the Most Valuable Player of the Conference and the Finals MVP as the Crossovers emerged as the first champions in the professional ranks.
The 6-foot-5 tower played a crucial role in the winner-take-all Game 3 as she unleashed 26 points anchored on 22 attacks, including the title-clinching kill, to go with four blocks.
Santiago was also able to duplicate her success in Japan when she and Ageo Medics won the Japan V League's V Cup championship last March.
Meanwhile, other individual awardees included Creamline's Jia Morado as Best Setter while her teammate Alyssa Valdez along with PetroGazz' Myla Pablo were hailed Best Outside Spikers.
Santiago and Riri Meneses of PetroGazz were handed out the Best Middle Blockers awards while Kat Tolentino of Choco Mucho was the Best Opposite Spiker. Kath Arado of PetroGazz as well was named Best Libero.
