PH women's national volleyball teams leave for Asian Club Championship in Thailand

Two national volleyball teams will leave for Thailand on Tuesday, September 28, to compete in the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship set to unfurl from October 1 to 7 in Nakhon Ratchasima.

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) said that both the women's teams—Team Rebisco and Team Choco Mucho—have concluded their month-long preparation in a bubble camp in Lipa City and are now ready for the tourney.

The men's squad, meanwhile, will fly to Thailand on October 4 for the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship slated from October 8 to 15 in the same venue.

Aby Maraño and Iris Tolenada will captain the Team Rebisco and Team Choco Mucho respectively while Johnvic de Guzman will skipper the men's squad.

Highly-touted open spiker Kalei Mau will also be able to suit up for the country after getting the nod of FIVB, the international body handling the affairs of volleyball.

The Thailand tournament will also be the first competition that the country is joining since the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games here.
