Debuting Negros Occidental taps Lizares, Ebro in BVR campaign

The Negros Occidental Beach Volleyball Club has tapped Bianca Lizares and MJ Ebro as the squad makes its debut in the 2021 Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR) On Tour, which commences on October 22.

Lizares and Ebro will banner Team Delimondo in the two legs to be played under a bubble setup in Sta. Ana, Cagayan. Leg 1 is slated from the 22nd until the 25th while the last leg will take place from October 28 to 31.

Lizares will be a big boost for Negros after being part of Sta. Lucia and Creamline squads in the past. The Bacolod native also finished as runner-up in the 2019 Philippine Superliga (PSL) with teammate Jennifer Cosas.

Ebro, meanwhile, is a former Cignal HD player and is a member of the University of Santo Tomas beach volleyball program.

Lizares and Ebro's mettle will be tested in the tournament where top-tier teams like the Creamline Beach Volleyball Team composed of Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons and the Perlas Spikers of Nicole Tiamzon and Mich Morente are set to see action.

BVR On Tour is making a return after a two-year hiatus and will serve as the national team's preparations for the Vietnam Southeast Asian (SEA) Games set for May next year.
