JAPAN V.LEAGUE

Jaja Santiago, Ageo Medics fall to defending champion JT Marvelous in four sets

Jaja Santiago and the Saitama Ageo Medics put up a gallant stand in the third set but still could not turn back the defending champion JT Marvelous, 21-25,  26-28, 25-17, 23-25, in the Japan V. League on Saturday at the Higashiyama Gymnasium.

The Ageo Medics will now drop to 2-1 after opening the season with back-to-back victories against the Okayama Seagulls over the last weekend.

Santiago was limited to only nine points anchored on seven attacks and two blocks while Lorenne Tisheira led Ageo Medics with 20 points on 18 attacks, a block, and an ace.

JT Marvelous, who is being reinforced by USA women’s national volleyball team member and opposite hitter Annie Drews, will remain spotless to grab the lead in the team standings at 3-0.

Ageo will look to bounce back when it faces the same team on Sunday, October 24, at 11 a.m.
