Petro Gazz makes quick work of Baguio to open PNVF Champions League

A veteran-laden Petro Gazz flaunted experience and offensive prowess as it routed Baguio in dominant fashion, 25-10, 25-13, 25-10, to open the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League on Saturday at the Aquamarine Sports Complex in Lipa, Batangas.

Serving as the opening salvo, the Angels got more than enough support from seasoned volleyball players in Ces Molina, Grethcel Soltones, Jerrili Malabanan, and Myla Pablo.

Molina, who was acquired by the team earlier this year, poured in 12 points built on eight attacks, three service aces, and one block.

Soltones added eight points while Malabanan chipped in seven markers. Open spiker Pablo sparked off the bench, carving out six points as Petro Gazz strengthened its title bid in the tournament.

The Lady Highlanders, meanwhile, were led by Mary Ann Atuban and Blesie Zainen Royo who each finished with six points.

The Angels, though, won't have a break as they plunge back into action on Sunday, November 21, against powerhouse Chery Tiggo.
