California Precision Sports bags first PNVF Champions League victory, keeps Baguio winless

California Precision Sports dominated a gritty Baguio side in four sets, 25-14, 23-25, 25-11, 25-12, to cruise to its breakthrough win in the inaugural PNVF Champions League on Tuesday in Lipa City, Batangas.

After seeing the match tied at one set apiece, California limited Baguio to only 11 points in the third frame before further detonating in the fourth and final set.

California opened the fourth set with an early 8-0 run before back-to-back hits courtesy of Alyssa Villasenor and Mary Ann Atuban put Baguio on the board, 2-8.

California then took advantage of errors from Baguio camp as Jelaica Faye Gajero ended a long rally to put her team up by double-digits heading into the second technical timeout, 16-6.

Gajero gave California the match point before sealing the game with a powerful hit from the opposite side, 25-12.

California will have a taller task ahead as it will face Petro Gazz on Wednesday, November 24, at 1:30 p.m.
