Go for Gold Aguilas survive Manileño Spikers in five-setter to open PNVF Champions League men's tourney

The men's tournament of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League opened with a bang as the Go for Gold Air Force Aguilas survived the VNS Manileño Spikers in a five-set thriller, 23-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Mark Gil Alfafara listed 19 points for the Air Force squad, while John Vic de Guzman had 15 attacks in the win.

R-Vin Morris Gavan had 17 points in VNS' gallant stand.

Later, Sabong International Spikers and MRT-Negros will play at 1:30 p.m., while Global Remit and Team Dasma will wrap the opening day at 4:30 p.m.

The winner of the men's tournament will represent the country in the Asian Club Volleyball Championship next year.
