Bryan Bagunas had a solid outing but Oita Miyoshi still slumped to a fourth consecutive loss, falling to Toray Arrows in straight sets, 23-25, 21-25, 22-25, in the Japan V. League on Saturday.

The Filipino import dropped 15 points anchored on 12 attacks and three blocks but his club accumulated 27 errors en route to their latest ranking at 5-20 for ninth place in the team standings.

Emerson Rodriguez, also an import from Venezuela, carried the load for Oita after pouring in 23 markers built on 20 attacks, two service aces, and a block.

Toray actually struggled offensively but they took advantage of Oita's mistakes to secure a solo top spot with a 17-8 card.

Christian Padal steered league-leader Toray with 15 points, completing 13 attacks of his 24 attempts, to go along with one block, and an ace while Dai Tezuka added nine points in the victory.

Oita will look to end the dry spell when they face Toray in a rematch on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Meanwhile, another Filipino spiker in Marck Espejo and his FC Tokyo were originally scheduled to face WD Nagiya today at 1 p.m. but their match was postponed to a later date.
