Chery Tiggo, F2 Logistics grouped in tough Pool A of PVL 2022

Chery Tiggo's title defense won't be a walk in the park as the reigning titleholder is grouped in a heavyweight field in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference that uncorks on March 16.

The Crossovers are bunched with powerhouse F2 Logistics in Pool A alongside respectable clubs in last conference's fourth placer Choco Mucho, Cignal HD, and Black Mamba Army in the tournament to be staged at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Heading the Pool B, meanwhile, are last year's runner-up Creamline, Petro Gazz, PLDT, and BaliPure.

PVL said it will implement a new format from its original three-month schedule. The upcoming Open Conference will now only run for four weeks with the top four teams in Pool A joining the Pool B squads in the quarterfinal stage.

First and second teams from both pools will also be rewarded with a twice-to-beat incentive.

The shortened tournament will be held in a semi-bubble setup with live spectators still not allowed.
