NU sweeps La Salle, inches closer to women’s volleyball title

Something historic is brewing for National University.

On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs swept De La Salle University, 25-20, 25-12, 25-21 in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 84 best-of-three finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Bella Belen had 15 points on 11 attacks, 2 blocks, 2 aces, while Lams Lamina had 20 excellent sets.

Leila Cruz, meanwhile, had six points for the Taft-based squad.

With the win, NU will inch closer to its first title in the Final Four era.

The Sampaloc-based squad also swept all its elimination round matches to book a finals appearance this season.
