Cignal stays perfect with sweep of Chery Tiggo; Creamline outplays PLDT
The Cignal HD Spikers cruised to a sweep of struggling Chery Tiggo, 25-23, 25-16, 25-18 to stay perfect in the 2022 PVL Invitational Conference on Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
With starting setter Gel Cayuna not present, Ayel Estrañero rose to the occasion to help steer the HD Spikers to their third straight win and top the team standings with a 3-0 slate.
Veteran Ces Molina starred for Cignal with 16 points anchored on 13 attacks, two aces, and one block.
Meanwhile, another sweep opened the double-header with Creamline making quick work of PLDT, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21, to grab its second win in as many games.
2022 PVL Open Conference MVP Tots Carlos took the scoring mantle and poured in a team-high 17 points built on 15 attacks, one service ace, and a block to go along with 8 digs.
Team captain Alyssa Valdez redeemed herself from a quiet outing in their previous game as she notched a double-double of 13 markers and 11 digs while Jema Galanza chipped in 12 points.
The latest victory extended Creamline's winning streak to 10 in the 2022 season.
PVL returns on Tuesday with Choco Mucho taking on Army at 2:30 p.m. while PLDT will look to bounce back against Petro Gazz at 5:30 p.m.
