Creamline erases 0-2 deficit to stun red-hot PLDT

Creamline stormed back from 0-2 set deficit to stun erstwhile undefeated PLDT in five thrilling sets, 22-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-19, 15-12, and remain unscathed in the 2022 PVL Invitational Conference semifinals on Saturday at the Ynares Centre in Antipolo.

With PLDT dominating the first two sets, the Cool Smashers got their act together in the third and fourth frames to force a decider with Tots Carlos, Jema Galanza, and Alyssa Valdez leading their offense.

Creamline then opened the fifth set with a sizzling 0-4 start before PLDT rallied back and tied the game at 11 with the duo of Eli Soyud and Mika Reyes denying Galanza on her attack. Three straight points from Creamline capped by a Jeanette Panaga block on Soyud brought them to match point, 14-11.

Another rejection from Panaga sealed it for Creamline as they handed PLDT its first loss in the playoffs.

Carlos took the scoring cudgels with 22 points built on 18 attacks, three blocks, and one ace while Valdez, Galanza, and Panaga each had 14 markers in the win. – RC, GMA News
