Dindin Santiago-Manabat signs with Akari

Dindin Santiago-Manabat has found a new home as she inked a deal to join the Akari Chargers in the upcoming 2023 season of Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

The team announced the development in a social media post Friday, just barely two weeks since the veteran spiker parted ways with her longtime team Chery Tiggo.

The 6-foot-2 winger will be a great boost to a young Akari club, which joined the league just last PVL 2022 Reinforced Conference and finished eighth among nine competing teams.

Santiago-Manabat is among the prized volleyball talents in the country after having won various individual awards while also steering the Crossovers to the 2021 Open Conference title.

At Akari, the 29-year-old Santiago-Manabat will join the likes of youngsters Trisha Genesis, Lycha Ebon, Erika Raagas, Jho Maraguinot, and Dani Ravena and head coach Jorge Souza de Brito.
