Creamline punches semis ticket with sweep of PLDT


Defending champion Creamline strengthened its title-retention bid after eking out a clean 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 sweep of erstwhile streaking PLDT in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Wednesday.

The win punched Creamline's semifinals ticket as it improved to 6-1 while PLDT, whose four-game winning streak ended today, slipped to 4-2 to tie Petro Gazz at the third spot.

Tots Carlos led the way for the Cool Smashers with 18 points anchored on 15 attacks, two aces, and one block while Ced Domingo provided the lift with 17 markers built on 15 attacks and two blocks.

Jema Galanza chipped in 11 points as only two players from the High Speed Hitters reached double digit mark with Mich Morente's 12 and Mika Reyes' 11.

Meanwhile, F2 Logistics moved on cusp of a semifinals berth after outlasting Choco Mucho in four sets, 25-23, 25-19, 13-25, 25-22, despite injuries during the game.

Kim Kianna Dy showed her prowess with 23 points while Myla Pablo, who had cramps late in the game, still finished with 15 points as they hiked their standings to 5-2 for solo second slot.
