La Salle sweeps UE to post its best elims record in nine years

De La Salle University swept University of the East, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17, on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre to post its best elimination record in nine years.

Angel Canino tallied 13 points while Jolina dela Cruz added eight points in the Lady Spikers' fourth straight win which improved their standings to 13-1. Mars Alba had 13 excellent sets for the green-and-white squad which is already assured of the first spot in the Final Four. The Taft-based squad swept the elimination round back in Season 76.

KC Cepada led the Lady Warriors with 16 points as they ended the season with a win and 13 losses.

UAAP action will return on Sunday at the same venue as it caps the elimination round with Adamson University (9-4) and University of Santo Tomas (9-4) going in crucial matches against Far Eastern University and University of the Philippines, respectively.
