NU completes season sweep en route to third straight UAAP men's volleyball crown


The National University Bulldogs are still kings of UAAP volleyball.

The Bulldogs on Sunday completed a sweep of UAAP season 85 en route to their third straight crown after defeating University of Santo Tomas in Game 2 of the Finals, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20, on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

 

 

Michaelo Buddin posted 20 points in the championship game, while Nico Almendras made 14 points.

Joshua Retamar, who was named as Most Valuable Player of the Finals, had 17 excellent sets on top of his two points and three digs.

Season MVP Josh Ybañez had 13 points, while Rey de Vera had 10 points in the losing affair for the España-based squad.

The win also extended their ongoing streak to 34. National U had the first of their three-peat in Season 80.
