Creamline returns to finals with sweep of Vietnam foe; Japan's Kurashiki boots out F2 Logistics

Defending champion Creamline inched closer to a title repeat after sweeping Vietnam's Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17, to punch its finals ticket in the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.

The Cool Smashers improved to 4-0 while the Vietnamese guest team dropped to 0-3.

Tots Carlos led the charge for Creamline with 16 points highlighted by 14 attacks while team captain Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza chipped in 11 and 10 markers apiece. Valdez added 11 receptions while Galanza chimed in with 10 digs.

Creamline will still face Japan's Kurashiki on Friday while Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh will play Cignal on Thursday and F2 on Friday.

Kurashiki remained unbeaten in the tournament after eliminating F2 Logistics with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 sweep later in the day behind Tamaru Asaka's stellar performance.

Asaka dropped 19 points built all on attacks while Taniguchi Saya, Takio Kokoro, and Yano Yukino chipped in seven markers apiece as they improved to 3-0.

The Cargo Movers, on the other hand, slid to 1-3.
