Instead of an import-laden tournament, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) will stage an All-Filipino tournament for its third and season-ending conference later this year.

“We’ll be back to All-Filipino for the third conference,” said PVL president Ricky Palou in a story published in the league's website on Thursday.

“The FIVB had blocked our request for ITCs (International Transfer Certificates), so there’ll be no Reinforced Conference. But we’ll proceed with the All-Filipino with 12 teams to see action."

This means that the league will feature two All-Filipino conferences this season as it already staged one last March where Creamline defeated Petro Gazz en route to the title.

Petro Gazz, meanwhile, won the last Reinforced tournament when the Angels dominated Cignal in the finals in December 2022 for back-to-back titles in the conference.

“We’re very happy with the results of the first two conferences. They exceeded our expectations, especially the Invitational Conference,” added Palou.

“Sure, the fans were happy. Everybody enjoyed the game even if Creamline had lost. And that’s what we want to give the fans – enjoyment."
