Chery Tiggo survives Benilde for first win in PNVF Champions League

Chery Tiggo needed to shrug off a tough challenge from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde before picking up a 29-27, 27-29, 25-18, 25-23 win in the 2024 PNVF Champions League on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The Crossovers have now entered the win column with an even 1-1 slate following an opening day loss to Cignal.

There were plenty of heroes for new-look Chery Tiggo but it was mainstay Mylene Paat who shone the brightest with 16 points built on 13 attacks, two blocks, and one ace as they escaped the youthful Lady Blazers.

Team captain Aby Maraño, Ara Galang, and Cza Carandang each poured in 12 markers while Eya Laure chipped in seven.

Gayle Pascual paced Benilde with 19 points while Zamantha Nolasco and Rhea Mae Densing tallied 11 apiece as they fell to similar 1-1 cards.

Meanwhile, Cignal remained undefeated after making quick work of the struggling Philippine Army, 25-21, 25-20, 25-15, to improve to 3-0 while the Lady Troopers slipped to 0-3.
